“The universe is real, but you can’t see it. You have to imagine it.”
-Alexander Calder
Industrial materials and processes, ideas about placemaking and the creation of unexpected juxtapositions compels me and empowers my work. Whether it's sculpture, interior design, or printmaking I use the medium as a means to harness the energy, intensity, and liveliness I feel in the world around me, capturing it through a whimsical use of hue, texture, and form. This playful mix of form, light, and playful exploration creates engagement and draws attention to, and encourages the viewer to see beyond the obvious. Art and design should serve a functional purpose -- to be internally appreciated for its balance, harmony, and beauty.
